Process-oriented Quality Management System under ISO 9001:2000
All production sites work according to strict and internation ally uniform ESC quality standards. Our quality management systems are certifified under ISO 9001:2000. Regular audits by TÜV Managementservice ensure that
we adhere to the requirements.
High-Quality Material
We only use high-quality materials in order to be able to produce hand rails with ideal properties. The semi-finished products we use have to meet the Semperit standards and are manufactured by renowned suppliers. Regular audits ensure that the properties of the materials we use for production and operation of the hand rails are of consistent good quality. High-quality materials are the basis for precise processing and sound operation.
ESC handrails have minimum 5 N/mm peel strength or minimum failure limit in endless hand rails of 25,000N.
State-of-the-Art Production Sites
The major part of the production process is conducted in-house: compound production, extrusion, coating of fabrics, vulcanisation, fifinish and packaging. Our highly developed, semi-automised production system was the fifirst one of its kind world-wide. Permanent process controls are necessary prerequisites for accuracy and re
producibility. Every fifinished hand rail comes with a test certifificate indicating dimensions and limit values. All this makes high-quality delivery on time possible.

Continuous training of our staff ensures strict compliance to the specifified parameters and to instructions for use in the entire production process.
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Our chemical engineers, textile engineers , process engineers, as well as the department for product development,
which is also responsible for the dynamic test on one of our 20 test rigs, give you technical advise and service. Thus all hand rails are under permanent dynamic control.
We especially concentrate on the following points:
• General behaviour with dynamic stress
• Impact of peeling strength
• Dimensional stability
• Layer adhesion
• Frictional values of sliding layer on guide systems
• Chemical and climatic impacts in special climate chamber
With these test rigs we can simulate different operating conditions. |
| ESCALATOR HANDRAIL COLOURS ESC provides you with the colour you need. At present we offer 12 standard colours and 13 special colours. One of ESC‘s leading features is the handrails‘ resistance to colour change. We meet classification 6 under EN ISO 105-B02, which defines the permissible impact of sun to colour changes (no bleaching or change in colour). Recommendation: always choose your colour on the basis of colour samples. We are glad to provide you with colour samples at any time. |

ESCALATOR HANDRAIL END PREPARATION
SEMPERIT handrails are tailored to your specifific application and available in a great variety of different pre-fabricated styles for quick and easy installation.
EL (endless)
Application: precise length of endless handrail is known; it is installed as endless handrail; no further vulcanisation
needed.
EO (one prepared end)
Application: precise length is not known; one end with a prepared end and the other fully cured and cut straight. on-site vulcanisation
BO (both ends prepared)
Application: precise length is known but cannot be installed as endless handrail, fast and easy splice , on-site
vulcanisation.
BG (both ends vulcanised)
Application: precise length of the endless handrail is not known beforehand, usually taken from reels (e.g. 400m),
both ends must be prepared, spliced and vulcanised onsite.

| ESCALATOR HANRAIL VULCANISATION TOOLS ESC provides you not only with the handrail, but also with all the tools you need in order to obtain the required quality when connecting ESC handrails by vulcanising at the escalator. With our lightweight vulcaniser with temperature control, and with compliance to the ESC instructions for use you can vulcanise end preparations directly on-site under ideal conditions. Our vulcanising package contains everything you need for splicing.Please note our instructions given in the respective information sheets. |

ESCALATOR HANDRAIL CLEANING AND CARE
We offer special cleaning and sealing products for handrails. These ecologically safe fluids should be applied with a lint-free cloth. The ESC cleaning fluid removes dirt, waxes and oils. Depending on its application this system provides excellent polish and mechanical protection. After grinding and polishing the handrail our Semperit handrail sealer should be applied.
